Instructions for Poster Presenters

All posters will be displayed in the POSTER AREA and must be set-up between 8:00 and 8:45am on the day of your scheduled session. They should be taken down between 5:00 and 6:00pm of the same day. Posters will be grouped according to topic. At least one author must be available to discuss the poster on the day that it is featured.  There will be two poster sessions per day, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.  Please check the final program (available online next month - www.wcnr-brasilia2008.com - and distributed in your Delegate Packet on the first day of the event) for daily times of the Poster Sessions.

We would like to inform you that posters can be written in either Portuguese or English, but preferably in English as there will be no simultaneous translation.  Posters should measure no more than 1.30m (51 inches) high and 1m (39 inches) wide. They will be affixed to the display boards with double-sided tape, which the authors should bring with them. Display boards will be provided by the Congress.

Members of the Organizing Committee will be available throughout the meeting for questions and information.  A detailed map of the facilities, with further instructions and locations, will be posted on the web in August and provided in your Delegate Packet.

Should you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us at wcnr@sarah.br.

For information on tourist visas to Brazil, please see:
http://www.opcotours.com/events/visa_information.htm

Travel: Most flights into Brasilia transfer in Rio or São Paulo and these stop-overs are usually included in the price of the ticket.  Brasilia is situated in the center of Brazil, making it as easy to get to other tourist destinations within the country as it is from Rio.

Tourism: Those of you who have been looking forward to seeing Rio can still choose to do so, if the dengue situation be under control by then. However, there are many other very beautiful cities in Brazil (that do not have dengue) such as Salvador, Maceio, Natal, Fernando de Noronha (a favorite of surfers and secluded-beach aficionados), as well as the waterfalls of Foz do Iguacu and the forests of the Amazon.

Booking travel packages or tours: A separate company is available to help congress participants organize tours all over Brazil (e.g., book hotel accommodations, flights, packages, sightseeing tours, etc.).  In Brasilia, there will be sightseeing tours both in the city and in neighboring parks and towns. If you would like to extend your stop-over on the way to Brasilia or en route back home after the congress, or wish to inquire about possible tourist packages, please click:
http://www.opcotours.com/packages/index.html

Dengue: There is no dengue epidemic in Brasilia; it is confined to the city and state of Rio de Janeiro. The health authorities in Brasília and Distrito Federal have maintained a very vigilant watch, having years ago implemented preventive measures to ensure that no such outbreak occurs. Also, this region’s climate and vegetation do not favor the proliferation of the dengue mosquito. For more information about dengue:

Although there is a good chance that the current health problems in Rio will be under control by September, in the absence of a guarantee, we have decided not to take the chance as a last-minute cancellation of the WCNR would not be acceptable.
